I’ve just had a perfect day before noon! This NEVER happens. Oh, sure I have had plenty of perfect days, but none of them before noon! I always count the hours before noon as part of “yesterday”.
But today I had to be up at 6:00 (4 hours after I went to sleep). I woke up cranky and mean (the perfect day part was that nobody made me be any different). My husband took the morning off to give me the morning off from my toddler! Good thing because he is no happier about mornings than I am.
After that I scored a triple play!
I went to help/watch my kids and a cast of home schooled kids from k-12 grade sing in a production of The Magic Flute with San Francisco Opera Guild. I had directed this production and my son had a major part. All of the kids did a terrific job, had fun and came away wanting to do it again.
Finally I am in the final stages of negotiation for a lyric writing job that will pay actual “wow” money (especially figured on a per hour basis which shows you how long it’s been since I have been paid “wow” money since I am still figuring things on a per hour basis).
Then I came home and made fried potatoes for the kids and we all worked like happy little bees trying to get the house back into something that looks like order so my oldest son can come home tonight for the first time in 3 months and be either completely oblivious to the clean house, criticize the fact that we have not unpacked boxes, or dump his stuff everywhere and obscure our efforts. But the wonderful thing is how much we are all looking forward to seeing each other!
Oh, and I heard from my parents that my dad got the clean bill of health/green light on his new and open heart.
I love days like this. I wonder if this happens every day before noon but I just did not know it. Apparently, there is also this whole other meal I had never heard about, called “breakfast”. I will have to look into this a little further.
Since you never really know what is coming next, I think I am just going to call it a "day" before anything bad happens, I'm going to call it a "good day"! So I hope you had a good day, already too!
